This English version is provided for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the German version is legally binding.
These license terms apply to all image files you purchase as downloads in the Stadtansichten Wernigerode shop. They form part of our terms and conditions (section 13).
1. What you acquire
With your purchase you receive the image file in full resolution as a JPEG and a simple (non-exclusive), non-transferable right of use within the scope of the chosen license. The right of use is unlimited in time and place. The copyright remains with Torsten Wagner. The photo may also be licensed to other customers.
2. Personal license
For private, non-commercial use, for example:
- as a wallpaper on your computer, tablet or smartphone,
- as a print for your own home (poster, canvas, photo print), including via a print service,
- in private photo books, calendars or cards as single copies for your own use or as a gift,
- on private social media profiles and private websites without a business connection.
3. Commercial license
For companies, self-employed people, associations and institutions, for use in their own presence and their own advertising, digital and printed, for example:
- on your own website and in online shops (not as a product for sale),
- in the company’s social media posts and profiles,
- in newsletters, presentations, digital brochures and internal documents,
- in digital advertising (e.g. online ads, screens in your own shop),
- in your own printed matter and promotional material such as flyers, brochures, posters, menus or ads – also as a background or illustration.
The commercial license includes personal use.
4. On request only
Not covered by the licenses and only possible by separate agreement:
- products for sale or distribution to third parties in which the image is the main content, e.g. postcards, calendars, mugs, textiles, souvenirs or packaging,
- book and magazine covers and editorial use in publishing products.

5. What is never permitted
- passing on, selling or lending the image file, or uploading it to image databases, stock portals or download offers,
- granting sublicenses,
- using the image file to train AI systems or as source material for them,
- registering the image as a trademark or logo,
- using the image in a context that disparages the author, people shown or places.
6. Editing
Cropping, scaling and the usual adjustments of brightness and color are permitted. Montages or changes that distort the character of the image are not permitted.
7. Credit
For any public use, the author must be credited, where technically possible on the image or in the legal notice or picture credits: Photo: Torsten Wagner / Stadtansichten Wernigerode
8. People, buildings & brands shown
The license covers the photographer’s rights. For commercial use of photos in which people are recognizable or brands, lettering or works of art are prominent, the customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from third parties.
9. Delivery
After receipt of payment, the image file is available for download in your customer account and via the link in the order confirmation. The download is possible up to 5 times within 30 days. Please save the file securely.
